Hello, I'm Indigo and this is my video game walkthrough blog. I'm not amazing but I try my best. I mostly do rpg's because faster paced games are more difficult to screenshot, but that's mostly what I play to begin with so it works out well. Games are mostly going to be Nes/Snes/Gameboy/Gameboy Advance. I hope what I've done can be helpful!

Pokemon Gold Version - Kanto (Part III)

I haven't updated Pokemon Gold in a very long time. I had a few distractions, I moved two provinces over and have been working full time and then I played Pokemon X and Y collectively like three or four times and then didn't want to go back to playing this right after. So, my bad.

But anyway, I've beat Misty so now I'm going to take care of a small errand to wrap up our duties in this area of the map. For that we have to go back to the power plant on Route 9. Talk to the manager in the eastern section of the building to get TM07 Zap Cannon. Now surf back north and land, then walk south the an area with a Pokemon Center.

This is the Rock Tunnel, known in the first game for being the one and only place you needed the otherwise useless HM Flash for. Now there is Dark Cave over in Johto too, making it useful in one place per region! *thumbs up*
Anyway, let's go on in. No one has installed lamps or poked some holes in the walls in the three years since Red/Blue/Yellow, so you still need to bring a flasher with you.

Rock Tunnel
Zubat
Machop
Geodude
Onix
Cubone
Marowak
Kangaskhan

Walk a few steps east for this hidden item, then move around the rocks to the ladder you see on the right.

On the second floor, go west to find this item laying out in the open. From here, simply head north to the next ladder. Back on the ground floor, head southeast to a ladder - don't worry about the item ball you pass by, we can't reach it from here.

For some reason, the item ball disappeared before the text showed up this time. Oh well, go north for this item. From here go west so you are in the middle of three sections partially separated by walls of boulders. Start heading south.

Get the PP Up here, then go west.

Before you go up the ladder, go south once again and pick up this hidden item. Now you are free to make your way back to the upper floor.

You will pass by a spot with yet another hidden item here, then a few steps west is that item ball we saw earlier. It contains TM47 Steel Wing. Farther west is an Elixer, then go back to where the TM was and go south to exit the cave.

Go east to find a trainer.

Continue south from here.

No gym here, so just heal at the Pokemon center in the northeast part of town and then head into the big tower to the right of the sign in this screenshot.

Speak to the director to receive an Expansion Card which allows your Pokegear to tune into Kanto's radio stations. This will be useful a little bit later. There is a Name Rater in one of the two houses sitting next to each other on the town's south side, if you need his services. When you are done, exit the town via the south gate.

Route 12

Early on, you will find a trainer.

Southeast is a platform you will have to surf to with this hidden item located on it. Go left of here to find your next opponent. Past him will be another fisher facing the water, you'll have to talk to that one to start a battle. You'll also see a path leading to the left as you cross the bridges, I'm going to be ignoring this for now.

Past that trainer is a house, and inside you will find the last fishing Guru. He will give you the best fishing rod in the game. Woohoo! Just past the house is another trainer.

After him, you will see a shrub on the left you can cut through. There is an item ball containing a Calcium in the revealed space.

.
This spot is directly south of the previous one, behind another shrub. The item ball here contains a Nugget. Surf back to the bridge and continue on.

Route 13
Pidgeotto
Nidorina
Nidorino
Hoppip
Chansey

The next couple sections are packed with trainers, so make sure your team is in good health. You'll see two as soon as you enter the little maze of posts.

Six Pikachu? What an asshole. North and east of here you will find a shrub you can cut down to access a patch of grass. On this route, as well as the next, you have a 1% chance of finding the lovable nurse Pokemon Chansey. There's also a girl on route 14 who offers to give you an Aerodactyl in exchange for one, but if you do manage to find the rarity I suggest you hang onto it for now. It has an evolved form, so take it to the Pokemon Daycare back in Johto and breed it with a Ditto so you have one to keep for yourself.

Go west and you should easily spot another trainer to challenge.

Cut down another bush south of that trainer and take a long walk west to this item ball containing a PP Up. Jumping over the ledge will bring you directly to the next city, but I'm going to cover the rest of the trainers first. Go back to where you cut the bush down and find a boy a little bit to the southeast.
