Hello, I'm Indigo and this is my video game walkthrough blog. I'm not amazing but I try my best. I mostly do rpg's because faster paced games are more difficult to screenshot, but that's mostly what I play to begin with so it works out well. Games are mostly going to be Nes/Snes/Gameboy/Gameboy Advance. I hope what I've done can be helpful!

Final Fantasy I: Dawn of Souls (Part 5)

Oh boy, this mountain is jelly-filled! I hope it's strawberry. Anyway, this is our next destination - you'll find it by flying west of Crescent Lake. Head inside.

This jelly is a weird colour and seems to have negative effects on my well-being. Must be raspberry. Anyway, head west from the entrance and go down the steps here. There will be a room right above you, so go inside. Go north until you see a chest on your left. It contains a Mythril Helm and is guarded by a monster called a Fire Elemental - have someone equip the Ice Brand from the citadel of trials to make easy work of it. South of here is a chest, guarded by the same monster, which contains 1520 Gil. Go north past the first chest and there will be an area where the path splits and there is a chest on either side of you. Go left first and get the Great Sword (Fire Elementals) and then get the 4150 Gil on the right.

Go north from here and start heading west. Ignore the first path downward but take the second. You'll find two more chests to the left; one (Fire Elemental) with 750 Gil and one with 795 Gil.

Go south from here and take the second path leading to the east. Follow it down to an enclosed section (entrance is guarded by Fire Elementals on the right only) with a whole bunch of treasure chests. These contain; a Hi-Potion, a Tent, 1975 Gil, an Antidote, a Phoenix Down, a Mythril Axe, 1477 Gil (guarded by a Lava Worm), a Mythril Helm, 1520 Gil, a Mythril Shield, 1760 Gil, and a pair of Mythril Gloves. Go back up and take the path east that we passed earlier. Go south when you can and exit the room. Proceed west to the stairs.

There's no treasure on this floor, so simply proceed all the way east to the stairs and go down again. On the next floor, head south from the stairs all the way to the bottom of the chamber, then head all the way east and take the stairs. The next area is divided into three horizontal rows. You start in the top one, so go south  to the middle one and then go west into the next "room". Go south here and then continue west to the stairs.

Enter the room above you on the next floor and get a Gold Needle (guarded at the front by Fire Lizard) and 2750 Gil (guarded to the left by Lava Worm). Continue along the path until you see a room on your left, enter it and get 1760 Gil. Continue west along the path and you will arrive at another room - this one has an Antidote, 880 Gil, another Ice Brand, a Flame Shield, and 7340 Gil. The space between the two northernmost chests is guarded by a Lava Worm.

Return to the previous room and go south, this path will take you to another room. This one has 155 Gil and 10 Gil and there is a Lava Worm two steps up from the entrance. This treasure sucks. Continue east past this room to another, this one has 2000 Gil and a Cottage. Much better. Return to the previous room and go south, this path will lead to another room with 1250 Gil and a Staff, both guarded from the left by Fire Lizards. Continue south from this room to reach the stairs.

If you've got all the other treasure chests before, there will only be one thing left on this floor - go directly east into the room there and go south to find the chest. You'll have to pass through a ring of rocks (entrance guarded by a Fire Lizard) to access the Flame Mail (it is guarded by a Red Dragon so heal and save before approaching). The room directly south of here contains the boss.

Marilith
HP: 1440
P.Def: 50
M.Def: 183
Weakness: Paralysis, Darkness, Sleep, Silence, Confusion, Mind
Resistance: Fire, Lightning, Stone, Poison

On your first turn, it's best to use Protera if you have it and also try to hit her with Darkness - her physical attack does upwards of 200 damage per hit, so you don't want to Silence her. Next use NulBlaze and Haste/Temper on any physical attackers. Even though she's not actually weak to ice attacks, the Ice Brand works very well here. Also if you have anyone that can equip the Flame Mail and Flame Shield (I didn't) make sure they have those equipped.

Step on the red circle of light to warp out of the dungeon, and that will be it for this section! See you in the next bit!

Party Level: 31

Go to part 6 --->

We also have access to the second bonus dungeon now. Again, I recommend not taking it on right away and leveling up a fair bit first. You may even want to wait until after you defeat the next fiend.
