Hello, I'm Indigo and this is my video game walkthrough blog. I'm not amazing but I try my best. I mostly do rpg's because faster paced games are more difficult to screenshot, but that's mostly what I play to begin with so it works out well. Games are mostly going to be Nes/Snes/Gameboy/Gameboy Advance. I hope what I've done can be helpful!

Pokemon Gold Version - Kanto (Part I)

Yes, that's right! We're not done yet!

It turns out that what he has for us is the S.S. Ticket which we can use in Olivine City, so Fly there now. Enter the port via the building on the south end of town (just left of the lighthouse).

There is a hidden item over here, but since you board the ship automatically (once you talk to the sailor) you won't be able to get it right now. You'll have to wait until Wednesday or Sunday and take a ship back here from the Kanto side.

Board the ship and a man will come and tell you that his granddaughter is missing. We'll deal with that in due time. There are a bunch of trainers on this ship. For this first part I'll be referring to the rooms by numbers, starting from the right and going left.

You can heal in here.

I'll continue the numbers going left to right along the bottom.

That's it for up here, so go down the stairs to your right. But a guy won't let you pass, we have to go find someone for him first. Go back and go up to Room 3.

Go up the next set of steps and enter the only room here. Talk to the little girl. You'll be transported back to her grandpa, who will give you a Metal Coat. With that done, the ship will automatically arrive at its destination - Vermillion City.

Make sure to sail over to the right and get this hidden item before you walk past the second sailor or you will have to wait to get it. Since you board automatically, you will have to wait until Monday or Friday and take another ship here from Olivine.

Go west and enter the building just above the gym with a sign out front. Inspect the Clefairy Doll in here to contribute to a later event, then talk to the man standing next to a woman at the end of the table. He'll talk for a bit, but in the end you'll get a Rare Candy. When you've got that, bring a Pokemon that knows Cut or Surf and head south to the gym.

Get this hidden item and then head inside.

Vermillion City Gym Challenge

Like in the first generation, the trainers in this gym use Electric type Pokemon. Their only weakness s Ground types, so you don't have much variety. Water or Flying types will be at a disadvantage here, but Grass types will resist electric attacks though they have no direct advantage. Grass types will also have a hard time against the couple Pokemon here who are part Steel. If you don't have a Ground type, Fire or Fighting will work well against these and do a decent job against most of the others as long as you're at a reasonable level.
